This year we were able to go as a family which was great! And as always, it's our favorite time of the year. Time to be around our AMC family, where everything is "normal". The smiles, the tears, the support you share is simply priceless. Mikaela was so happy to be with all of her friends. She never wanted us around, she just wanted to be off having fun, scooting her way around the hotel. She even did stairs for the first time ever! It warmed our hearts and reminded us how we wish we could all live closer together. Another thing that we loved was seeing Naomi see so many people that were like her sister. It opened up her world and we were so proud of her for the compassion and love she showed to all the children.
We sat through informative classes, support groups and
saw the best doctors. I went to a "Mom of a child with AMC" session and I sat there hearing 30 other women telling my story, that I feel most don't understand at times. It was the best type of therapy I could ask for. The whole experience is always overwhelming, and filled with so much love and support.
A special thank you to Dr. van Bosse who took the time to sit down with us and see things in a whole new light. He always puts all of us on the right path, he's our Superman. And again, thank you AMCSI for all of the hard work you do all year to bring so many families together, giving us such an amazing and wonderful experience that we'll never forget.
